I was having lunch with a few of my friends lastweek that I have not seen in quite awhile. Shame on us. Life's too short not to enjoy good friendships.
Anyways, them not knowing what I was up to these days, an interesting conversation popped up and the conclusion of it all, lead me to write this article.

A friend of mine recently told me he was thinking about joining a home business online opportunity. I asked him what type of business model was the opportunity. He said it was an MLM business plan and the reason he's interested in this particular MLM company was because they promised him spillover.

I blurred out, "Don't believe that line of crap, they are lying to you!" Well, that didn't go over too well him, but I told him before you sign-up you better ask them to clarify what they mean by "spillover" and make sure you are happy with the way they answer your question.

My buddy called me back a few days later and said, "I point-blank asked them out, will I get people put underneath me, and the rep. said, "Well, we can't guarantee that."

Needless, to say, my friend thanked me for my bluntness.

So, here is my take on when MLM companies promote that type of marketing technique.

Spillover - does nothing but create a Welfare Mentality

Good people don't want welfare; they want to build a business for themselves.

They want to learn the skills they need to build their home business online opportunity and create residual income stream. Money that keeps coming in week after week, year after year, and they can will it to their children's

children.

When you start looking at Multi Level Marketing systems, you often see that word "spillover." The proposition, more or less, is, "get in now, today, and you'll get all this spillover."

In all my years, I have never, ever, ever seen anybody get spillovers. Actually have someone else build a business for them, without any effort on ones part. If you look closely at the compensation plans of the companies that promote spillover, you'll find out that those who get spillover usually don't get paid on it. There are other hoops to jump through to get paid on that spillover, and these people rarely ever qualify.

So it's the person who actually does the work who gets the pay. Now, isn't that a Novel Idea?

Companies & reps use "spillover" techniques as a tool to drag in people who think they can build a MLM business or generate mlm leads without doing any work. In other words, no sponsoring, no recruiting. So, who are they really targeted too? When You Say "Spillover", You Are Targeting Quitters!

When you see a network marketing company that promotes spillover on their website, they're looking for welfare-minded people. The problem for you is, you can't build with these people, unless YOU do all the work! That's what they

want. That's what they expect. And when you don't build their business for them, they're off somewhere else, looking for a better welfare plan.

So when you or your company promote spillover, you really are targeting people who will not be with you long-term. And in MLM network marketing, that makes absolutely no sense. The failure rate will be 100%.
